"McFarland Performance Horses " is a family operated business started by Scott and Terri McFarland. Currently located in Mount Gilead, Ohio, Scott limits the number of horses in training so he can give both his customers and their horses his personal attention.

Scott placed in the Top Ten at the "All American Quarter Horse Congress", Limited Open Reining in 2008 & 2010. He won the year-end award in the "Central Ohio Reining Horse Association's" Rookie Professional division, twice, and he has qualified multiple horses for the "North American Affiliate Championships".

It was through his wife Terri that Scott was first introduced to horses. Riding horses quickly became a passion so it wasn't long before he quit his teaching job and enrolled at the University of Findlay's Equine program. After graduation Scott was hired by the University as the Assistant Barn Manager. Eventually, he chose to start his own business, specializing in training Reining horses, and starting colts. Scott trained horses while his wife managed the business.
For the next several years, Scott added experiences such as breeding manager, and showing and coaching Non-Pro's, to his horse training skills.
Scott, Terri (and son Heath) spent several years in Colorado and Pennsylvania, before finally returning to Ohio in 2008, to begin a new endeavor. Terri was hired by Stacy Westfall as her Executive Assistant at Westfall Horsemanship. Scott moved his Horse-training business to the Westfall barn. McFarland Performance Horses operated along side Westfall Horsemanship, in what turned out to be a wonderful collaboration.
In 2008, Scott tied for sixth place in the Limited Open at "The All American Quarter Horse Congress" in Columbus, Ohio riding "Conquistadors Sun." The McFarland's and The Westfalls worked well together, then in the fall of 2009 change was in the air once again. The Westfalls' added brood mares to their personal herd of horses, and Scott's training business continued to grow. It soon became apparent that everyone needed more space. In September Scott relocated "McFarland Performance Horses" to "Breez E Noll" a horse farm just a few miles East of the Westfall's.

Terri, also made a change. She accepted a teaching position with "Recovery and Prevention Resources", The McFarland's and Westfall's began their journey down separate paths. Though the time together may have been brief, it was a great experience and the memories will last a lifetime. Scott McFarland currently specializes in: Training Reining Horses. Starting colts. Re-training problem horses. Giving lessons. Coaching "Non-Pro's". If you are looking for help with your horse contact Scott at: 1-570-637-0390 (Cell)
